Wolf Power Megaways Review
Playson seems reluctant when it comes to conjuring up new material for their Megaways releases, at least so far, and Wolf Power Megaways is basically a beefed-up remake of their less-than-memorable Wolf Power: Hold and Win. The math model is far better in this dynamic reels version though, so there is no doubt which one we prefer, but the core features are more or less the same.
The base game is pretty barebones, and you don’t even get cascading wins. A high-value wild is the only resemblance of a feature, and the wild expands in the bonus round. This can lead to solid payouts up to 20,000x your stake, and the other attraction is the Hold & Win Respins round with reel-expanding Booster symbols and jackpots up to 2,000x your stake. Not very original in other words, and we are reminded of the previous Buffalo Power Megaways.

Landing 6 of a kind with the premium animal symbols pay between 5 and 20 x your stake, and the Wolf Wild pays 50x your stake for the same. The wild also steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations, like wilds usually do. The bonus features are the same as in the original game, giving you a bonus round and a hold-and-win style feature.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3, 4, 5 or 6 moonlight scatters anywhere in view, and this gives you 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins, respectively.
All wild symbols that land during the feature will expand to cover the entire reel they landed on.Wolf Power Megaways Slot - Free SpinsYou can land Bonus and Power symbols in addition to the above mentioned symbols, and any combo with 6+ of these triggers the hold-and-win style Bonus Game. The triggering symbols become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid, and you get 3 respins for starters. Only Power, Bonus or blank symbols will land, and non-blank symbols become sticky as the respins tally resets to 3 again.
During the Respins round, you can also land a so-called Booster symbol, and this blue double arrow symbol adds +1 position to any reel it appears on. You can get up to 6 positions per reel at best, and each added position increases the reel multiplier by +1 also. It starts at x1 by default, and it can go as high as x5 per reel.
The Bonus symbols come with prize values between x1 and x10 attached, while the Power symbols award jackpots that depend on how many you’ve managed to rack up in total during the feature.
You win 5x, 20x, 50x, 150x, 500x or 2,000x your stake if you land 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 Power symbols, respectively. The feature ends when you run out of respins, or fill the grid, and your total winnings are then summed up.Finally, non-UK players, and anyone living in an eligible jurisdiction, may take advantage of the Bonus Buy feature. The free spins round is not for sale, but you can purchase the hold-and-win style Respins Round for 100x your stake. This guarantees 6+ Bonus and/or Power symbols on the spin that follows.
The 200 Spins Wolf Power Megaways Experience
You get to see at least one decent base game payout, before we trigger the bonus round at 1:20 into the 4:37-minute highlights video. The expanding wilds proved quite effective in generating decent wins, and we skip to the hold-and-win Respins Round right after. Review Summary
Playson continues to underwhelm with their Megaways remakes of previous releases, and Wolf Power Megaways is very similar to Buffalo Power Megaways in that regard. Very little has been done to make the less-than-memorable original release more exciting, although you get far better stats combined with the beefed up dynamic reels experience.
The expanding wilds can certainly do damage in the bonus round, which is something, but it’s hardly original in any way. The hold-and-win style Respins feature is also very run-of-the-mill, with okay jackpots up to 2,000x your stake.
The reel-expanding Booster symbol is somewhat original, but hardly enough to carry this game. The 20,000x potential is significantly higher than their previous Megaways efforts though, which is a step in the right direction.Pros
- FS w/ expanding wilds
- Hold & Respin w/ jackpots up to 2,000x
- Win up to 20,000x your stake
Cons
- Nothing new to see here
