Book of Inti Review

If you’re going to compete in the overcrowded Book of ... genre, you need to find clever ways to stick out. Golden Rock Studios has done that in spades with Book of Inti, as the visual presentation alone was enough to catch our attention. The rather simple soundtrack is very atmospheric too, and it gives you the feeling that something massive is about to go down.

Featurewise, you get a 3-tier Wheel of Fortune that decides your expanding symbol in the bonus round. The big twist is that the wheel can also remove a symbol from the feature, increasing your chances of triggering the expanding symbol effect. Compared to the run-of-the-mill ‘book clones’ coming every month, Book of Inti stands out as an overall solid addition to the genre, and it’s well worth checking out.

Book of Inti slot Features

The book symbol serves double duty as both the game’s wild and scatter symbol. As a wild, the book steps in for all regular pay symbols, and it also pays 200x your stake for 5 on a payline.

Land at least 3 book scatters anywhere on the same spin, and you trigger the Bonus Round.

The camera will then dramatically zoom in on the top of an Aztec pyramid, where a Bonus Wheel takes center stage. There are 3 concentric tiers to this wheel, and the outermost wheel spins first. This determines your special expanding symbol, and you need to land on a golden symbol to spin the middle tier wheel.

The middle wheel awards between 2 to 15 extra free spins, on top of the 8 you get by default. Again, you’ll need to land on a golden segment to spin the innermost tier wheel. The innermost wheel determines which symbol will be removed for the duration of the bonus round, and all 9 symbols are represented on it.

If you retrigger the bonus round with 3 new scatters, you get another spin on the Book of Inti Wheel.

You can thus add multiple expanding symbols to the mix, get more extra spins and remove multiple symbols. The special expanding symbols don’t need to land adjacent to create a win, but you need at least 3 royals or 2 premiums to trigger the expanding effect.

The 200 Spins Book of Inti slot Experience

Nothing too exciting went down during base game play, which is often the case with ‘Book slots’. You can therefore safely skip to 1:10 into the 3-minute highlights video if you just want to check out the bonus round. We got ‘K’ as the expanding symbol, and did not manage to get to the second tier wheel. See how we fared by hitting the play button.

Review Summary

Golden Rock Studios has certainly made a ‘Book slot’ that sticks out with Book of Inti, both visually and featurewise. It’s refreshing to be outside, instead of down in some dusty tomb, and the dramatic soundtrack adds a certain tension as you play. The big twist is the 3-tier bonus wheel, and this adds a layer of unpredictability to the feature that’s not really there in many other ‘Book clones’.

The fact that also premium symbols can be removed might seem a bit strange, but it will increase your chances for landing the chosen expanding symbol (or symbols). The 5,500x potential is a tad above the regular 5,000x max win, but psychologically it might feel like you need several extras and retriggers to stand a chance at larger payouts.

This is not the case however, you simply need to fill the screen with the top paying conquistador to win 5,000x your stake.

Pros

  • Audiovisually refreshing ‘Book clone’
  • Chosen expanding symbol and symbol removal
  • Retrigger for multiple bonus round extras
  • Win up to 5,500x your stake

Cons

  • Max bet is “only” £40 per spin

If you love Book of Inti slot you should also try:

Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead - is a ‘book clone’ from Play’n Go, and you’ll benefit from up to 3 stacked wilds in the base game and in the bonus round. The wilds also come with a global multiplier up to 5x, and you can win up to 2,500x your stake.

Cat Wilde and the Lost Chapter - is all about Rich Wilde’s adventurous daughter, and the special expanding symbol alternates randomly between each free spin. There is also a nested pyramid spins round, where the expanding symbol is fixed, and you can win up to 10,000x your stake.

Ali Baba's Luck - is a Red Tiger innovation, where winning symbols become highlighted as special expanding symbols also in the base game. The highlighted winning symbols don’t reset in the bonus round, which can lead to multiple expanding symbols and payouts up to 5,000x your stake.
