Gods of Secrecy is another addition to the never-ending book slot saga, and it plays out on 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 win ways. The bonus round follows the formula with a chosen expanding symbol, but you can gamble to upgrade it here. You will also benefit from a Hold & Win Respins feature with 3 jackpots, and payouts up to 5,000x is possible in this highly volatile Ra clone.

Gods of Secrecy Review
Get ready for another journey to the ancient tombs of Egypt, as StakeLogic has done very little to change up the classic theme with Gods of Secrecy. We’re almost getting “banner blindness” from playing so many of these clones now, so we hardly notice the theme anymore (unless the developer has done something special with it).
Anyway, what you get with Gods of Secrecy is a fairly standard Ra clone, but with the addition of a Hold & Win Respins feature where you can win 3 different progressive jackpots. The math model is similar to most book of mechanic slots, and being able to gamble for a better chosen symbol is always nice. Fans will know what they’re getting themselves into here, and we go into detail in the review below.

As we already mentioned, this is a fairly standard book of clone that also comes with a Hold & Win jackpot feature. The mini pyramid tomb is the scatter/wild symbol in this game, and it will step in for all regular symbols to help you form winning combinations.

When you land at least 3 scatter/wilds anywhere on the reels, you trigger an initial smaller scatter win before the bonus round starts. Per usual, a random symbol is selected to be the special expanding symbol up front. You can gamble to upgrade the chosen symbol however, but you also risk downgrading it if you go for this option.
You get 10 free spins to start with, and the chosen symbol will expand to cover the full reels as long as you land at least 3 anywhere. This means that the chosen expanding symbol doesn’t need to land adjacent to create wins, and the win calculation comes after any regular wins have been summed up. You can retrigger the bonus round by landing at least 3 new scatters on a free spin, and this adds 10 new spins to your tally.
You trigger the Pyramid of Secrets feature when you land at least 6 Eye of Horus pyramids anywhere on the same spin. This is a classic Hold & Win Respins feature with jackpots, and the triggering pyramids become sticky on the reels.
You start out with 3 respins, and the respins tally resets to 3 again each time you land at least 1 new pyramid. You will only land blanks, pyramids or jackpot symbols, and the pyramids come with cash prizes attached. The feature ends when you run out of spins, or when you fill the entire screen with cash pyramid symbols.
You can win up to 3 different jackpots by landing the corresponding symbols (Mini, Major and Mega), and all pyramid cash symbols are summed up when the feature ends.
You will win the Mega jackpot by filling all 15 reel positions with pyramid symbols, and it can even be won twice if you also land a Mega Jackpot symbol on the reels. If you win less than 20x from this feature, your win will be restocked to 20x. This is a win guarantee that leaves you with a nice consolation prize, and the Super Stake feature will increase your chances of landing Eye of Horus pyramids. Turning on the Super Stake feature means that you pay twice as much for each spin, and the Eye of Horus pyramids can also trigger the bonus round.
The 200 Spins Gods of Secrecy slot Experience
After a while of base game grind, the Super Stake feature kicked in to help us trigger the all-important bonus round. We get 10 free spins to start with, but pretty soon we landed enough scatter/wilds to upgrade that to 20 spins. You can see how it all plays out in the 2-minute highlights video below, and the Super Stake feature triggers at 0:20 into the video.
Review Summary
StakeLogic doesn’t stray too far away from the tried and tested book slot formula with Gods of Secrecy, but they include the Hold & Win Respins feature for some added excitement. The math model is more or less as expected, with high volatility, a decent RTP and a 5,000x max win potential that’s most likely to come in the bonus round.
The Super Stake feature makes it easier to trigger the bonus round and the Hold & Win Respins, and it’s definitely something to consider. The Respins jackpot feature distracts a bit from the clean appeal of the original book slot concept, but some players will probably welcome it with open arms. The Egyptian theme does nothing to make this game stick out however, so you either like it because of the jackpot respins, or you don’t.
Pros
- Bonus round with chosen expanding symbol
- Gamble to upgrade the chosen symbol
- Hold & Win Respins feature with 3 jackpots
- High volatility and 5,000x max win potential
Cons
- Could have done more with the theme to stick out
If you enjoy Gods of Secrecy slot you should also try:
Ali Baba's Luck - is a book of clone that comes with a very interesting twist.
All symbols involved in a win will become “chosen” expanding symbols on the next spin, and this feature does not reset during the bonus round.Legacy of Dead - follows the book slot formula almost to the letter, except for the fact that you can get up to all 9 symbols as chosen expanding symbols in the bonus round.
Book of Dead - is the absolute king of the book slots, even though it’s a blatant copy of the original Book of Ra. The math model is much stronger in this game however, and it set the standard for all book of clones that followed.
