Gold Collector Diamond Edition Slot Review, Demo Play, Payout, Free Spins & Bonuses

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is a volatile mining follow-up slot from All41 Studios (powered by Microgaming), and it plays out on 5x4 reels with 50 paylines. The 5,000x Diamond Jackpot can be landed in the base game, as well as in the Link&Win feature and the Bonus Round. Both features come with reel-specific jackpots up to 1,000x as well, and the overall max win is 5,200x your stake. Check our full review right below the free demo game.

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Review

The popular mining slot genre is filled with both heavy hitters and more lighthearted installments, and the original Gold Collector is pretty much a lightweight compared to this All41 Studios follow-up. Gold Collector: Diamond Edition lives up to its ‘deluxe’ standing in all ways possible, except perhaps for the somewhat simple audiovisuals presentation which hasn’t changed all that much.

The reels spin in the opening of the mine shaft, and you can land the 5,000x Diamond Jackpot also in the base game. The innovative reel-specific respin counters are carried over in what’s now called the Link&Win feature, and you get reel-specific jackpots up to 1,000x in both bonus rounds. The free spins round is all about mining for cash coins and diamonds via exploding dynamite barrels and plunger symbols, and the 5,200x potential is far more solid as well.

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 5 and 15 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the white-bearded prospector is the top-tier symbol. The Wild symbol steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete wins, and it can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. Landing 5 diamond symbols on a base game spin awards the top-tier 5,000x Diamond Jackpot.

You trigger the Bonus Round when you land 3 dynamite scatters on the 3 middle reels, and this awards 10 free spins. The reel positions are filled with rocks in the background, and special dynamite barrels will land to explode the rock on the position it lands on.

This reveals a diamond or coin symbol, and both come with a cash value that’s accumulated above the grid.

Diamonds award +1 extra spin, and if you reveal one diamond for all 5 reels you win the Diamond Jackpot of 5,000x your stake. If the dynamite barrel lands on a position without a rock it will sometimes spawn a plunger symbol. This explodes 2 to 5 surrounding rocks that reveal coins or diamonds, and each reel comes with a specific jackpot that’s awarded when all rocks are exploded:

  • Reel 1 awards the Mini Jackpot of 10x your stake
  • Reel 2 awards the Minor Jackpot of 20x your stake
  • Reel 3 awards the Maxi Jackpot of 50x your stake
  • Reel 4 awards the Major Jackpot of 100x your stake
  • Reel 5 awards the Grand Jackpot of 1,000x your stake

The Link&Win feature triggers when you land 3 coin or diamond symbols on a base game spin, and only blanks, coins or diamonds will land during the streak respins style feature. Each reel has an individual respin counter that resets to 3 each time you land a non-blank symbol, and both the coins and the diamonds come with random cash prizes. The diamond prizes are more valuable than the coin prizes.

All coin and diamond symbols that land become sticky for the duration of the Link&Win round, and the feature ends when the respin counter on all reels reaches zero.

The feature also ends if you manage to fill all the positions with coins and/or diamonds. A diamond on each reel awards the 5,000x Diamond Jackpot, and filling a reel with sticky coin/diamond symbols award the same reel-specific jackpot as in the free spins round.

Review Summary

We weren’t too impressed by the original Gold Collector from All41 Studios, but this sequel has a lot more going for it. The visuals are still on the simpler side, which some may find charming, and Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is a more volatile experience with far more solid potential rewards. Being able to land the 5,000 Diamond Jackpot in all stages of the game helps keep the tension up, and 750x your stake is a decent regular single spin max win as well.

Exploding rocks to uncover coin and diamond prizes in the bonus round keeps the game true to its theme in a neat way, and the reel-specific jackpots are always within reach. The Link&Win reel-specific respin counter system performs well in this follow-up too, and the same can be said about the reel-specific jackpots. Overall, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is a tighter, more compact and powerful experience, and it will probably recruit new fans in spades.

Pros

  • The 5,000x Jackpot can be landed in all stages
  • Link&Win w/ reel-specific jackpots up to 1,000x
  • FS w/ exploding rock prizes and reel jackpots
  • Win up to 5,200x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of customizable RTP ranges

Gold Collector - is a decent alternative if you’re looking for less volatility, but this original release comes with a max win of only 1,200x your stake. The streak respins style HyperHold round comes with reel-specific jackpots, and the biggest one pays 1,000x your stake.

The bonus round comes with a guaranteed HyperHold trigger.

Gold Digger Megaways - is a dynamic reels installment in the mining slot series from iSoftBet, and it comes with a top tracker reel and up to 117,649 ways to win. You get different mining modifiers in the base game, as well as 5 modifiers in the Hold & Win Respins round. The max win increases to 28,821x (from 22,508x) if you play with Gold Bet turned on.

Misery Mining - is a dark and gritty NoLimit City mining slot that’s pretty much in a league of its own. The default 3x3 grid can expand to 7x7 via the xBomb explosions, which also increments the win multiplier. The mouse and rat bonus rounds are filled to the brim with innovations and modifiers, and you can win up to a staggering 70,000x your stake.

Gold Collector - is a decent alternative if you're looking for less volatility, but this original release comes with a max win of only 1,x. Gold Collector Diamond Edition looks good, and although, on the surface, there's a lot of going on, the game is actually just passable. We were not impressed.
