Sisters of the Sun Slot Review, Demo Play, Payout, Free Spins & Bonuses

Sisters of the Sun is a follow-up slot to the Play’n Go classic, Moon Princess, and it plays out on a 5x5 cluster pays engine grid. Cascading wins generate wilds, and wins above the Eye of Ra pattern increases the win multiplier. The 3 Goddess modifiers work exactly like in MP, and they will also help trigger the progressive multiplier Bonus Round via the Sisterhood feature. The volatility is high, and you can win up to 15,000x your stake.

Sisters of the Sun Review

The moon can only shine because its surface reflects light from the sun, and it’s therefore only natural that the Sun God-centric sister slot to Moon Princess outshines the original effort. Sisters of the Sun is similar to the original in many ways though, but it’s far from being a copycat effort. The ancient Egypt theme is nicely done as you might expect from Play’n Go, and the cutesy “pretty-in-pink” factor of the Anime predecessor is long gone.

Centered around the sister deities, Sekhmet, Hathor and Bastet, you’re in for a highly volatile grid slot ride with plenty of modifier action and features. Cascading wins generates wilds, but you need winning combos above a random 5-symbol Eye of Ra pattern to increase the multiplier. This becomes a bit easier in the bonus round, but triggering the feature requires you to jump through a few hoops, which can be tricky.

Sisters of the Sun Slot Features

The 3 sister deities, Bastet, Hathor and Sekhmet, are the premium symbols in this game, and they all pay 10x your stake for 5 in a cluster. These symbols also pay mixed, but only up to 5x your stake for a combination of 5 different sisters. The dual snake wild steps in for all pay symbols, and it’s also worth 30x your stake for 5 in a cluster.

Whenever you land a winning combo, the Cascading mechanic is triggered, removing all winning symbols from the grid.

New and/or existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps, and this process repeats as long as you keep winning.

When 3 symbols are removed, a wild is generated in the empty position in the middle. If you manage to clear the whole grid, you win a 50x bonus prize. This payout does not occur in the Sisterhood feature (see below), but it will be subject to whatever active multiplier you’ve racked up.

You will see 5 random grid positions marked by the Eye of Ra per spin, and the progressive win multiplier increases by +1 for every win that occurs on top of a marked position. The win multiplier resets between spins during base game play.

The Goddess Power features trigger at random times on non-winning spins, and the modifier you get depends on which sister deity is by your side at the moment. Here is an overview of what you can expect:

  • Sekhmet - transform one symbol type into another.
  • Hathor - adds 1 or 2 wilds randomly to the grid.
  • Bastet - removes 2 symbols types from the grid.

You need only 1 glowing Scroll scatter anywhere in sight to trigger the Sisterhood feature.

This awards 1 free spin with a reset win multiplier, and the 3 deity sisters take turns awarding their modifier on non-winning symbol drops until all 3 have played out. If you manage to clear the grid completely during the feature, you trigger the Bonus Round.

You then get to choose between Sekhmet, Hathor or Bastet, and this awards 4, 5 or 8 initial free spins, respectively. The win multiplier from the Sisterhood feature is carried over, and does not reset between free spins. The fewer spins you go for, the higher the potential risk/reward, and the chosen Goddess modifier will trigger on every non-winning spin.

You get 10 marked Eye of Ra positions instead of 5 during the feature, making it easier to increase the non-resetting win multiplier. You can win extra spins also, and the number of spins you get per scatter symbol that appears is determined by which Goddess you went with. Sekhmet, Hathor and Bastet award +4, +3 or +2 extra spins per scatter, respectively, up to 150 at the most.

Review Summary

Sisters of the Sun can perhaps be seen as Moon Princess from a parallel and more volatile universe. The two games are very similar in many ways, but this is far from a reskin or copycat effort from Play’n Go.

Sisters of the Sun Slot Review 505

The pinkish, anime princesses are replaced by 3 deity sisters you probably don’t wanna mess with. Visually, this game looks more mature too, and the volatility borders on extreme.

The biggest challenge is triggering the bonus round, as you’ll need to trigger the Sisterhood feature up front to even stand a chance at that. Getting the progressive multiplier going is also a bit harder due to the Eye of Ra pattern system, but you can be duly rewarded when things finally go your way. The 15,000x potential is 3 times that of MP, and we’re pretty sure Sekhmet, Hathor and Bastet would eat the Sailor Moon cuties for lunch if they ever met.

Pros

  • Cascading wins wild generation
  • Eye of Ra pattern progressive multiplier
  • 3 random Goddess Power modifiers
  • 3 FS options w/ non-resetting multiplier
  • Win up to 15,000x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges

If you enjoy Sisters of the Sun Slot you should also try:

Moon Princess - comes with the same ‘girl power’ modifiers on random non-winning spins, but the progressive win multiplier is capped at x20 in the bonus round. Clearing the grid to trigger the feature can happen at any time though, and you can win up to 5,000x your stake.

Odin Protector of Realms - is a Play’n Go hexagonal cluster pays grid slot with a more forgiving medium volatility. Consecutive cascading wins fill the Ring meter, and reaching the gold level can trigger a grid full of matching symbols.

There are 3 randomly triggered Odin features, and you can win up to 5,000x your stake.

Rise Of Olympus - is Play’n Go’s masculine counterpart to the “pretty in pink” Moon Princess. All the features are the same, and so is the math model. This is a good option if you’re not in the mood for the oestrogen overload you get in the original.
